Our mission is simple: to serve our state with high-quality, unbiased news that gets Mainers the information they need about the issues impacting their lives.  

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, every donation, large and small, plays an essential role in helping us deliver fact-based news that empowers Mainers to be engaged in their communities and that keeps leaders accountable.  

During our Year-End Fundraising Drive, we need your support to reach our goal of securing $200,000 to keep our vital public service newsroom working for Maine.

Our membership benefits

A graphic detailing the membership tiers offered by The Maine Monitor for donors to its newsroom. Monitor Members, which are those donating up to $249 per year, receive recognition on the newsroom's website, official newsroom sticker and advanced invitations to Maine Monitor programs. Those donating at least $20 per month or at least $250 per year are known as public interest members and receive aforementioned benefits plus access to the editor's report newsletter with the month's most important highlights. Fearless members are those donating at least $40 per month or at least $500 per year and receive the aforementioned benefits plus quarterly members-only event with newsroom staff and a newsroom t-shirt. Truthseeker members donate at least $85 per month or $1,000 per year and receive the aforementioned plus access to exclusive events.
