You keep us working for Maine

this seal shows that the maine center for public interest reporting, which publishes the maine monitor, received Candid's 2025 seal of platinum transparency rating.

Every day, our Maine Monitor newsroom works hard to deliver accurate, thorough and unbiased reporting that sheds light on Maine’s most important issues.

Our readers fuel this work, supporting reporter salaries, document access fees and even gas money to get to a story.

We’re asking our community to come together and help us raise $70,000 during our Spring Fundraising Drive. These funds are essential to securing the Monitor reporting that holds institutions and decision-makers accountable — from the State House to your local select board.
