Slade Moore crafts stories told through journalism, writing, videography, audio production, and radio. Having written about conservation and climate change, independent film, pioneering alternative rock musicians, and U.S. policy in Afghanistan, he has rarely met a topic that didn't get his investigative and creative juices flowing. In another career, Slade developed climate resilience practices for local communities, led a coastal habitat restoration and monitoring program for the State of Maine, and performed wildlife research and management. He also once volunteered in Afghanistan’s Central Highlands to mentor local conservationists and document alpine carnivore biodiversity. A long time ago, Slade occasionally jumped out of aging helicopters for the Navy. In his down time, he daydreams about playing guitar and prepares surprisingly tasty meals for his family out of random ingredients. (Headshot by Gilon Backlund)
