Arthur Bell, a Democrat from Yarmouth. Rep. Bell is retired and has served in the state legislature since being elected in November 2020.

Rep. Bell spent 30 years in corporate finance prior to serving in the Legislature. Rep. Bell has served on Yarmouth’s Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee and has served on the Yarmouth History Society Board and the Bike and Pedestrian Committee. He is a founding member of the Royal River Alliance, working to restore the Royal River watershed. Rep. Bell was also previously elected to two, three-year terms on the school board, six years on the Yarmouth Senior Housing Board and was the longtime treasurer of Yarmouth Cares About Neighbors.

Rep. Bell serves on the environment and natural resources committee which covers air and water quality; natural resource protection; site location of development laws, shoreland zoning, subdivisions and growth management; management and disposal of solid, hazardous, biomedical and special wastes; returnable containers; hydropower and dams; waste-to-energy facilities; mining; wind energy development; and general environmental policy, including oversight of the Department of Environmental Protection.
