CURRENT REPRESENTATIVE:

Richard “Dick” Campbell, a Republican from Orrington. Rep. Campbell is the design and building industry, and has served in the legislature since being elected in November 2022. He also served in the legislature from 1993-2000 and from 2013-2020.

Rep. Campbell served in the Air Force for eight years, and served in the Maine Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. Rep. Campbell is the owner of Campbell LLC, a design and building contract company. His career experience also includes service as a member of the John Bapst High School Board of Trustees, as president with the Bangor-Brewer YMCA Board of Trustees, and as a co-chair with the Eastern Maine Soapbox Derby. He serves his hometown of Orrington as president of the Old Home Week Committee and is also a member of the historical society.

Rep. Campbell serves on the ethics committee, as ranking member of the rules and business of the House committee and as ranking member of the environment and natural resources committee.

The environment and natural resources committee covers air and water quality; natural resource protection; site location of development laws, shoreland zoning, subdivisions and growth management; management and disposal of solid, hazardous, biomedical and special wastes; returnable containers; hydropower and dams; waste-to-energy facilities; mining; wind energy development; and general environmental policy, including oversight of the Department of Environmental Protection.
