CURRENT REPRESENTATIVE:

James Dill, a Democrat from Old Town. Rep. Dill is an educator and has served in the state legislature since being elected in November 2010. His first two terms (125th and 126th Legislatures) were in the House, followed by four terms in the Senate (127th-130th) before a return to the House for the 131st Legislature.

Rep. Dill works for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension as the pest management specialist and cooperating professor in the School of Biological Sciences. He has served as chairman of the Old Town/RSU 34 School Board for the past 24 years, and on the board of the United Technologies Center, the CTE high school in Bangor, for the past 25 years, and as its chairman for the past 10 years.

Dill serves on the inland fisheries and wildlife committee which covers the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife; inland fisheries and wildlife research and management; hunting; fishing; trapping; hunter safety; fish hatcheries; game wardens; guides; taxidermist licensing; ATVs; snowmobiles; watercraft registration and boater safety; and whitewater rafting.

Rep. Dill also serves on the marine resources committee which covers the Department of Marine Resources; Marine Patrol; commercial and recreational marine fisheries management, licensing and enforcement; marine science and research; shellfish sanitation and management; and aquaculture.
