Amanda Geduld is an investigative journalist covering education for The Maine Monitor. She previously reported on New York City's public school system, exposing wrongdoing including fraudulent grading practices and a school busing crisis. She is particularly passionate about investigating the various institutions that intersect with public education, such as the housing, carceral, and child welfare systems. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Chalkbeat, CNN, Columbia News Service, and AM New York. Amanda graduated as salutatorian from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she was a Stabile Investigative Fellow. She was the recipient of the Fred M. Hechinger Education Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Travel fellowship.
