William S. Cohen is a former U.S. Senator and Secretary of Defense. Secretary Cohen, who represented Maine in the U.S. House and Senate, was a member of the House Judiciary Committee in the early 1970s, and was one of the first Republicans to break with his party and vote for the impeachment of President Richard Nixon.
