This episode of “Chasing Maine” goes backstage for an in-depth look at the current production of Irving Berlin’s “Holiday Inn,” put on by the Biddeford City Theater.

The City Theater Opera House, which opened in 1860, is not only an historic landmark but also an anchor of the arts and culture scene in Southern Maine.

Five times a year, the venue hosts community theater productions.

Community is the lifeblood of community theater, as volunteers provide a foundation of energy and talent to productions like “Holiday Inn.”

Irving Berlin’s energetic musical will run through Dec. 22. For a list of showtimes and ticket availability, visit the theater’s website at citytheater.org/buy-tickets.
