Help us report on ICE activity

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers launched an immigration enforcement effort in Maine on January 21, and reports and videos of detainments have quickly proliferated on social media. Our reporters are working to verify those accounts, and to gather more information.

ICE told Fox News it had 1,400 targets in Maine and that it was “targeting the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens who have terrorized communities,” according to a press release. Reporting by The Maine Monitor and other news outlets has found that several individuals detained so far have had pending asylum claims, work visas or other forms of immigration status, and do not have a criminal record.

We want to hear from you if you have witnessed federal agents detain someone in Maine, if you know someone who is in ICE custody, or if you have faced repercussions for observing their activities.
