Lynn Copeland, a Democrat from Saco. Rep. Copeland is a legal aide and has served in the state legislature since being elected in November 2020.

Rep. Copeland serves as a legal aide within a prestigious law firm, specializing in its litigation and labor and employment departments. She has previously worked as a year-round L.L. Bean customer service representative and seasonally as a quality coach and in problem resolution.

Prior to being a legislator, Rep. Copeland served two terms as a Saco City Councilor representing Ward 4. In this role, she served as the council liaison to the Saco Conservation Commission, Shoreline Commission, Coastal Waters Commission and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and was a member of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. She is the former chairwoman of the Saco Conservation Commission and was a licensed therapeutic foster parent, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Committee Chair and editor of a PTA newsletter. Rep. Copeland is a former board member of Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine (AFFM) and the Maine Outdoor Adventure Club (MOAC) and is a graduate of the City of Saco Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy.

Copeland serves on the state and local government committee which covers state government, including the Legislature, state property, public purchasing and contracts, state agencies and government organization, state employment, oversight of state officials, periodic review of State Government Evaluation Act; Maine State Archives; administrative procedures, boards and commissions, state holidays and designations, and capitol area planning; county government, including regional planning, budget process and county officials; municipal and local government, including deorganization and consolidation, planning and regulation, land use; discontinued and abandoned roads and cemeteries.
