This seat was originally held by Clint Collamore (D) until Rep. Collamore’s resignation on February 16, 2023.

Abden Simmons, a Republican from Waldoboro. Rep. Simmons is a fisherman and has served in the state legislature since being elected in June 2023. He previously served in the 128th Legislature.

Rep. Simmons is a commercial fisherman by trade, has served as a member of the Waldoboro Select Board for eight years and is chairman of the town’s Shellfish Committee. Previously, he served on the Planning Board, the Software Advisory Council and as Director of the Maine Elver Fisherman’s Association. He has also been a member of the Maine Department of Marine Resources’ Advisory Council. 

Rep. Simmons serves on the marine resources committee which covers the Department of Marine Resources; Marine Patrol; commercial and recreational marine fisheries management, licensing and enforcement; marine science and research; shellfish sanitation and management; and aquaculture.
