Elora Griswold

Elora Griswold is a fourth-year student journalist and freelance reporter covering the Downeast region for Monitor Local, an initiative of The Maine Monitor.

She serves as editor-in-chief of the University of Maine's student-led newspaper, the Maine Campus, and is passionate about pursuing stories that increase public access to transparent information. Areas of particular interest include local government, public safety, criminal justice and investigative reporting, although any topic can hold her interest if it involves reporting on her home state of Maine.

Alongside her written work, Elora is a multimedia journalist and photographer who has produced several documentaries. She enjoys thinking about how visual content impacts her storytelling and taking her own photos. Her commitment to ethical reporting and quality journalism has been recognized by the Maine Press Association and Maine Public Relations Council, and she has been named a Maine Community Foundation Guy P. Gannett journalism scholar for two academic years.
