Our journalism isn’t changing — but our name and look have!

The staff and board of directors of the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting has announced a new brand identity, which includes a new logo, website and name that is easier to say, write and remember. The new Pine Tree Watch name and look will appear on our website, Facebook, Twitter, and with our stories published by more than thirty media partners across Maine.

Facts matter. Since 2009, the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting’s investigative journalism has had an impact, holding Maine state government and institutions accountable. As Pine Tree Watch we are still operating the same nonprofit, nonpartisan news service that you have come to rely on for stories that matter to Mainers.

Center's new name and logoPine Tree Watch will continue to use data- and document-based reporting, plus challenging interviews, to provide in-depth investigative reporting on issues that other news sources don’t have the time or resources to cover. Our journalism isn’t changing — but our name and look have!

We are grateful for the opportunity to update our brand and website thanks to funding by a major donor. Our tagline — “Investigative Journalism for Maine” — makes it clear that we work for all Maine citizens. We look out for the people of the Pine Tree State and fulfill the responsibility of a free press in our democracy. We don’t accept advertising to support our operations. The Pine Tree Watch budget is supported by donations from individuals, family funds and foundations.

Sharing is Caring! Please help share our big news and check out our new website: themainemonitor.org. We are always thankful for monetary donations, but you can also show your support by telling your friends and colleagues to follow Pine Tree Watch on Facebook, Twitter or to subscribe to our e-news.
