The Maine Monitor and its publisher, The Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, are pleased to welcome two additions to the independent, nonprofit news organization.
Amber Carter has joined the organization as an audience engagement director for The Maine Monitor, where she will focus on fostering reader relationships and bringing the newsroom’s work to new people.
Throughout her nearly two-decade-long career, she has worked for several news publications in Maine, most recently serving as the assistant web editor for the Portland Press Herald.
She has a passion for telling significant stories through smart and engaging online posts, while striving to convey unbiased, accurate and thoughtful information.
Haydn Russell has joined the organization as a development fellow for The Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, which operates The Maine Monitor, where he will assist the development team with grant proposals and fundraising efforts.
He recently graduated summa cum laude from Union College in New York with an interdepartmental major in English and political science and has worked as an associate with the Stories of U Grant Project and interned in the Union College office of admissions.
As a lifelong New Englander, he is eager to serve Maineās communities by supporting The Maine Monitorās mission to provide transparent, reliable and fair journalism.
